Really interesting. I love live love reading letters so this was a great read! It’s funny because as Americans, we are taught very little about Martha Washington.
As it so happens, I have a draft of a tale or two about Daniel Parke Custis' father! At least one member of my family married into that family (for better or for worse) and I'd have to hire someone (a professional) to sort out any other connections. And there's a Cromwell connection to the Major family of the same place, Northampton County, Virginia: Dorothy Maijor of Southampton (England) was married to Richard Cromwell. The residents of the county at that time and before strongly tended to be eccentric, for lack of a better word.
On Richard Cromwells Wikipedia page, it says he was married to Dorothy Maijor, but I always like to double check, so I opened up his entry on Thepeerage.com, but it didn't mention his wife, only a daughter so I looked him up on DNB ( Oxford Dictionary of National Biography) but as I'm not a member I couldn't open up his page, but I'm sure you'll find the information there.
Dorothy MAIJOR 's family lived at Hursley, near Winchester, Hants, not Southampton. After their marriage, Richard Cromwell and Dorothy Maijor settled at her family estate in Hursley. The Maijors were Hampshire gentry.
So interesting! Thank you for posting.

Ah, interesting!
(This is a tongue in cheek comment) Are you implying that the residents of Southampton, England are eccentric??,!!!
Oh, Heaven forbid! 🤣 But the early residents of Northampton County were absolutely bonkers, as I shall prove today.
Still sounds like the right family (thanks for the additional information), but I'd probably have to enlist a professional to sort it out.

That was very kind of you! Thank you! I was thinking of writing a post. ☺️
If you look at www.thecromwellassociation.org/wordpress/cromwells-wife-and-children/ that should give you lots of information.
Thank you!
